ALV Pageant Circle, led by Arnold Vegafria, crowned a new roster of Philippine queens, with Davao’s Jayvee Lyn Lorejo officially assuming the title of Miss Global Philippines 2026 following the resignation of former titleholder Valerie Pawid West. The ceremonial turnover placed the spotlight on Lorejo, who will now represent the Philippines at the Miss Global 2026 pageant in Thailand.

Lorejo was formally sashed and crowned in a special ceremony attended by reigning Miss Global 2025 Nguyen Dình Nhu Vân, TPN Global CEO Rui Piyaporn Sankosik, ALV Pageant Circle officials and members of the international pageant organization.

The event also marked the signing of a memorandum of agreement between ALV Pageant Circle and Thailand-based TPN Global, strengthening the partnership between the Philippine franchise holder and the international pageant organization.

Joining Lorejo in the organization’s new roster of titleholders were Erika Davis as Miss Glamour Look Philippines 2026, Michelle Arceo as Miss Tourism International Philippines 2026, Sophia Bianca Santos as Miss Elite International Philippines 2026, Margarette Briton as Miss InterGlobal International Philippines 2026, Gabrielle Galapia as Miss Asia Pacific International Philippines 2026 and Olivia Grace Reily as Face of Beauty International Philippines 2026.

During a press conference, Lorejo described wearing the Philippine sash as both a privilege and a responsibility.

“Having this opportunity, having this responsibility, this sash across my heart is really a privilege and an honor. I’m very grateful to Tito Arnold and the ALV Pageant Circle for giving me this opportunity. I will really try my best to work hard for this journey because I know pageantry is kind of like an Olympic game for Filipinos,” she said.

The Davao beauty queen said she intends to stay authentic throughout her international campaign.

“My grandmother told me that being true to yourself is something that you can offer to the table. With my recent journey in pageantry, the only thing I can boast to people is that I showed my true self. I believe people loved that, and I can’t wait to show it on the international stage, especially at Miss Global.”

Lorejo admitted the appointment came unexpectedly but said she was prepared to embrace the opportunity.

“I really didn’t expect that I would be crowned Miss Global Philippines. But one thing pageantry taught me is to always be prepared because opportunities can come unexpectedly. Here I am, preparing to be the best representation of the Philippines at Miss Global.”

She also outlined the areas she hopes to improve before competing internationally.

”My main focus right now is my communication skills, to strengthen my advocacy, the Pangga Project, to learn more about global issues, and to work on myself to be the best representative of the Philippines in Miss Global.”

Asked what convinced her to accept the title after West’s resignation, Lorejo said the confidence shown by the organization motivated her to step into the role.

“I know it’s a huge role for me to step into, but the people who believed in me and trusted my capabilities as a Filipina and as an advocate really pushed me to accept the challenge. A true Filipina doesn’t back down. She accepts the challenge with all of her heart.”

The newly crowned queen also addressed the recent earthquake that affected parts of Mindanao, including her hometown.

“It really saddens me that my family experienced the recent earthquake in Mindanao. My family’s business was also affected. We can’t stop natural calamities, but what we can do is be prepared. I’m working with the ALV Pageant Circle to see how we can extend our help to the victims.”

The Philippines last competed at Miss Global through Xena Ramos, who finished in the Top 5 and was named fourth runner-up at the 2025 international pageant. Lorejo now carries the country’s bid for its next Miss Global crown when she competes later this year in Thailand.
