On October 28, representatives from the Da Nang Special Forest Management Board announced that through biodiversity surveys and monitoring in the My Son historical and cultural relic landscape protection area (Thu Bon commune, Da Nang city), the unit has recorded many species of flora and fauna with conservation value.
Previously, the Da Nang Special Forest Management Board installed 30 automatic camera traps at 15 monitoring points within the forest area. Initial survey results recorded 607 animal species, including 37 mammal species, 62 bird species, 97 reptile species, 43 fish species, 109 insect species, and 189 benthic animal species.

Notably, among the recorded species are many wildlife species of conservation and economic value, such as the Javan pangolin, civet, wild boar, porcupine, monkey, python, and many species of forest birds. Some species belong to the group of rare animals and are listed in the Red Book.
According to the Da Nang Special Forest Management Board, although complete statistics on reserves and population density are not yet available, initial surveys indicate that the area still has great potential for wildlife diversity, especially in natural forests that have been minimally impacted.
Regarding flora, the survey recorded 238 species, including 36 species of trees and 157 species of medicinal plants. The plant species with significant uses mainly belong to the groups of medicinal plants, fruit trees, and ornamental plants.
The above results show that the flora and fauna in the My Son historical and cultural relic landscape protection area are relatively rich, characteristic of the tropical monsoon forest ecosystem of the Central Central region. This is also an important basis for forest management, protection, and biodiversity conservation in the area.
