Accordingly, this is not only an opportunity to exchange information on the operational situation of the power industry, but also for EVNNPC to listen to feedback from practical production and operation, and to work with units to identify difficulties and find solutions to improve the efficiency of power source-grid coordination. Through this, the spirit of partnership, shared responsibility, and gratitude for the contributions of power generation enterprises is concretized through practical actions, aiming towards the common goal of ensuring energy security and serving socio-economic development.
Direct dialogue and leveraging the combined power of electricity sources.
The direct collaboration between EVNNPC leaders and hydropower plants, wind power plants, and power generation units in the area is a highlight of the Corporation's management approach. Through direct dialogue, issues related to capacity mobilization, grid capacity, operational coordination, and production obstacles are discussed in detail, helping to enhance understanding between the power industry and businesses.
This approach demonstrates a proactive spirit of engaging with the grassroots, listening to partners, and coordinating problem-solving based on practical experience. For EVNNPC, this is not only a method to improve operational quality but also an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of power generation units in maintaining production, coordinating with the power sector, and contributing electricity to the system. For businesses, direct dialogue facilitates clearer discussion of suggestions and proposals, contributing to finding solutions that harmonize system operation requirements with the operational efficiency of each plant.
Son La currently has a total operating power capacity of approximately 3,669 MW, including 57 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of about 670 MW. Along with large-scale power sources and renewable energy sources, the power generation system in the area contributes to supplementing the supply, exploiting local energy potential, and supporting the Northern power system during periods of high load demand.
According to EVNNPC's report, in the period from April to June 2026, the output of small hydropower plants in Son La reached over 385.4 million kWh, an increase of 17.7% compared to the same period last year. Notably, 17 out of 22 hydropower plants connected to the medium-voltage grid participated in shifting their power generation times, with a total capacity of 114.1 MW, contributing to supporting the power system during peak load hours.
The above results demonstrate the practical role of power generation units and the spirit of coordination and shared responsibility with the electricity sector. In the context of an increasingly diversified power source structure, strengthening information exchange, coordinating operational plans, and improving power receiving capacity are crucial, helping to maximize the efficiency of each power source while contributing to ensuring safe and stable system operation.
Mr. Tran Trung Thien, Deputy General Director of Nam La Hydropower Joint Stock Company, said that coordination between hydropower plants and EVNNPC and dispatching units is especially important during periods of high electricity demand. Proactive information exchange, agreement on operating plans, and capacity mobilization help businesses effectively utilize water resources while meeting the overall operational requirements of the power system.
Mr. Thien highly appreciated EVNNPC's proactive and responsible spirit in coordinating and creating conditions for power plants to fulfill their roles and contribute to ensuring a safe and stable electricity supply. Accordingly, the support of the electricity sector is a crucial factor in helping businesses enhance their proactive operation and contribute more effectively to the system.
For power generation units, production efficiency depends not only on technology, resource conditions, or equipment capacity, but also on the grid's ability to receive and transmit power. Particularly with wind and renewable energy sources, close coordination in information exchange, updating power generation plans, and addressing technical issues is crucial for improving the efficiency of clean energy exploitation.
Mr. Vu Van Thang, Deputy Director of Pa Chien Hydropower Joint Stock Company, said that EVNNPC's proactive exchange of information and coordination in developing operational plans and handling technical issues has contributed to helping the company improve its proactive approach, ensure equipment safety, and exploit power sources more efficiently. He hopes that this coordination will continue to be maintained and strengthened in the future, especially as the demand for power generation in the area continues to grow.
