Over the years, significant progress has been made in protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people in the province. However, the reality of community health care still faces many challenges.

The rates of stunting and micronutrient deficiencies in particularly disadvantaged villages and communes remain significantly higher than in urban centers. According to data from the National Institute of Nutrition in 2025, the rate of stunting among children under 5 years old in Tuyen Quang province was 24.03% (a decrease of 0.2% compared to 2024), while the rate of underweight children was 13.1% (a decrease of 0.2%). Although there has been an improvement, the 24.03% stunting rate in mountainous areas remains a cause for concern when compared to the general average.
