Autumn colors amidst the clouds on the summit of Unpenji
In western Kagawa Prefecture, autumn seems to arrive at Mount Unpenji earlier than in the plains. From the cable car cabin, the ground slowly recedes, revealing the mountain slopes below, a mix of green, red, and yellow hues as if touched by the autumn breeze. In just about 7 minutes, the 2,594-meter cable car ride takes visitors to the summit, nearly 920 meters high. From here, with a panoramic view, visitors can see the horizon stretching out, the Sanuki Plain and the Seto Inland Sea appearing in the distance.
